Good Weather
Eastbourne has the most recorded hours of sunshine on the South coast, making it an ideal destination for all types of holidays or short breaks. The main railway station which is a few minutes walk from us, has a regular service to Brighton, Gatwick and London.

Clean Water
Eastbourne has been awarded a blue flag for its clean water and litter free beaches. The attractive promenade stretches for five miles from Beachy head to the Sovereign Harbour Marina, one of the largest in Europe. You can enjoy walking, swimming, cycling, skating and sailing or simply relax in the quieter, more tranquil area nestling under the cliffs at Holywell.

Historic
History plays a large part in Eastbourne’s surrounding areas. Hastings, Battle, Arundel, Chichester, Brighton and Lewes hold a wealth of historical interest, making Eastbourne the ideal base for visiting historic houses, magnificent castles and gardens.

Countryside
If walking or rambling is your chosen activity, Eastbourne is the starting point for the beautiful South Downs Way which stretches all the way to Winchester. In addition, the lovely Seven Sisters Country Park is short car / bus drive away.

France
Alternatively, if you fancy a day trip to France, Newhaven ferry is just a twenty minute drive with its regular crossings to Dieppe.Please visit their website for timetables and bookings http://www.aferry.com/nsn/

Music
Eastbourne is renowned for many musical events, including live bands at the famous 1930’s Bandstand, West end shows at the Congress Theatre and Devonshire Park Theatre and variety shows at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre. There is also the famous Glyndebourne Opera House, situated in idyllic surroundings just fifteen miles from Eastbourne.

Shopping and eating out
We are conveniently situated in a residential area, a few minutes walk away from Eastbourne's town centre, with its many restaurants, coffee shops and traditional pubs, theatre, cinema and main line station. It is lovely to walk down the high street with its buzzing atmosphere and is also ideal for shopping. Terminus road leads you directly to the beach close to the pier. The pier has a beautiful view of the beachfront and offers shops, eating out and entertainment for all ages.

Golf
There are 4 golf courses close by, Royal Eastbourne, Eastbourne Downs, Willingdon and Eastbourne Golfing Park.
 
Royal Eastbourne has an 18 hole course situated near the Meads/Old Town area of the town. It also boasts a short par 3 course within 18 hole course. Willingdon is situated under the commanding views near Butts Brow and is a course which demands good control. Eastbourne Downs is a true links course with commanding views over the town and English Channel. There is a need to master the lost art of chip and run on this lovely course. The last course is the Eastbourne Golfing Park which is a small 9 hole course with plenty of water to avoid on the course. Please see our links page for more information on the golf courses.
 
Watersports
For those with fishing in mind, there is there are both sea and fresh water angling sites to be found at www.southdown-angling.org  Those who want a bit of sailing/windsurfing on the English Channel then go to www.sailing-at-eastbourne.co.uk
 
Sports
For those for a sport of the more gentle persausion then why not try a game of bowls just aroung the corner at Gildridge Park. Details at www.gildredge-park.bowlsclub.info
